In 2014, Northern Caucasus saw a dramatic reduction of the number of victims of the armed conflict. The "Caucasian Knot" has published detailed results of its calculations based on the data received from its own correspondents and information from open sources in the Section "Northern Caucasus – Statistics of Victims".

In the period from January 1 to December 31, 2014, in total, 525 persons fell victim to the armed conflict in the North-Caucasian Federal District (NCFD), including 341 killed and 184 wounded persons. In comparison with 2013, the total number of victims went down by 46.9%. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The joint inquiry conducted by investigating authorities of Russia and Armenia into the murder of the Avetisyan family in Gyumri has no legal force, Armenian lawyers believe.
