The death of a child from meningoencephalitis in Rostov-on-Don could be a result of negligence of health workers, investigators believe. In the evening on June 5, Bagaudin Magomedov, a resident of Yuzhno-Sukhokumsk, was detained by employees of the GOVD (City Interior Division) and charged with illegal possession of explosives and firearms, said his relative Rasul Magomedov.

Rashad Gasanov, an activist of the civil movement "Nida" (Shout) will stay in custody under decision of the above court. He was arrested on March 14 and is charged under Article 228.3 (illegal possession of firearms, explosives and devices within an organized criminal grouping) of the Criminal Code of Azerbaijan.

Today, the Baku Court of Appeal has considered the complaint of Mustafa Gadjibeili, an advisor to the head of the oppositional "Musavat" Party, against his administrative detention; eventually, the activist was left in custody, said his advocate Nemat Kerimli and added that his client was illegally involved in forced labour at the temporary detention facility (known as IVS).

Today, the electricity supply was again disconnected from the house in Astrakhan, where the Porfiriev family live, said Regina Porfirieva. According to her story, people in uniform cut off the power cable that supplied electricity to the house.

The organizers of the June 1 rally "For Particular Actions in Defence of Children and Mothers" in Volgograd have received a confirmation from the City Duma that the resolution of the rally had been received and was under discussion, Nikolai Belikov, one of the organizers told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
