After his beating up in Makhachkala, Ruslan Ablyakimov, an activist, filed an application to the police. The attack is connected with the announcement of the opening of Navalny's office in Makhachkala, the capital of Dagestan, Mr Ablyakimov said.

Four persons kidnapped a resident of Makhachkala and demanded from him to pay out 4 million roubles. Two of the kidnappers, former policemen, are detained, the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports today.

Today, in Rostov-on-Don, the police have detained and brought to court Vera Oleinikova, a participant of a protest rally in support of Anastasia Shevchenko. According to the activist herself, she does not know why she is detained.
