The section "Family and Public Health" of the Forum "Caucasus. Traditions and Modernization", held on November 30 in Kabardino-Balkaria, discussed the issue of preserving the Caucasian family values at the background of modernization of the rest of the life. In the opinion of singer Varvara, mother of four children, these values are surely exemplary. Other debated topics were social problems, health of the population and demography.

Zarema Sadulayeva, head of the humanitarian organization "Let's Save the Generation", who was kidnapped and murdered together with her husband Alik Dzhabrailov in Grozny earlier this August, was an occasional victim of the culprits: she died because of the husband. On Tuesday, the Novgorod Regional Court extended till March 3, 2010, the custody of Salanbek Dzakhkiev and Maksharip Khidriev, suspected figurants in the first explosion of the "Neva-Express" train committed in August 2007. Ruslan Keshev, leader of the public organization named "Circassian Congress", was violently beaten. The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learnt from duly informed sources that at 5:30 p.m. several persons, led by a criminal authority, rushed into the office of the NGO and attacked him. Mr Keshev had his nose and arm broken and received other traumas.

The Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" plans to restart its activities in the territory of the Chechen Republic in near future. However, the format can be somewhat different.
