Five activists of the oppositional movement "Left-Wing Front" were detained by the police in the streets of Rostov-on-Don. Three of them were released immediately, after writing down their passport data; the other two were kept at the station for several hours.

Today, the Baku Court of Appeal (BCA) has rejected the appeal complaint lodged by Ruslan Bashirli, the head of the youth organization "Eni Fikir" (New Thinking), against refusal to apply the conditional early relief (CER) to him.

Activists of oppositional movements have held another picket against the parliamentary elections to be held in Russia on December 4, 2011. The picketers called citizens to refuse to take part in them by excluding themselves from voters' lists, or by spoiling the ballot paper.

On October, 10, a twenty-four-years-old resident of Samara region Vitaly Vasin was detained in Moscow for suspicion of participation in mass disturbances in Manezhnaya square in December, 2010. On October 9, Vladimir Asatryan, 19, a regular soldier of one of the units of the Defence Army of Nagorno-Karabakh, committed suicide by killing himself from a submachine gun.

Ten persons were hospitalized with diagnosis of salmonellosis and orivirus infection after eating at the Japanese cuisine facility in the city of Taganrog. A 7-year-old child and a sushi bar employee are among the victims.

On October 9 in Dagestan, the police detained a 20-year-old resident of Kaspiisk, who is suspected of having called the police on duty unit and reported about an explosive device, allegedly planted in one of the trading houses located in I.
