On December 8, Soslan Gabuev, a staff member of the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of South Ossetia, got a knife wound during an opposition rally in the city of Tskhinvali. This was reported by Uruzmag Margiev, the deputy head of the city GOVD (Chief Interior Division).

Starting from December 6, in the capital of Kabardino-Balkaria, 170 persons, including 68 children, were hospitalized with a diagnosis of "acute gastroenterocolitis", "food toxic infection". The infection source is still unidentified: the samples of water showed its compliance with the standard.

On December 4, unidentified persons kidnapped Magomed Mutalibov, born in 1985, a resident of the Suleiman-Stalskiy District of Dagestan. According to his brother Nazim Mutalibov, power agents are involved in the kidnapping.

Today, the Volgograd Regional Court upheld the verdict to Nikolai Volkov, the ex-deputy of the Volgograd Regional Duma, who was convicted in this October for sex crimes against children, falsification of passport and escape. This was reported by the Spokesman of the Regional Court.

Today, the Supreme Court (SC) of Azerbaijan has considered the cassation compliant lodged by the of opposition activist Bakhtiyar Gadjiev, convicted on charges of evading his regular military service. The complaint states that Gadjiev had a draft deferment because of his higher education and the right to alternative service. However, the SC has upheld the decisions of the first and appellate instances.
