In Sochi, the court has denied the complaint lodged by Alexander Boichenko, the advocate of the builder Mardiros Demerchyan, against inaction of the investigator, who is considering the case of his client's beating and torture. The lawyer has appealed against the denial at the higher court – the Krasnodar Territorial Court.

Today, the Sovietsky Court of Makhachkala has ruled to arrest Zarema Bagautdinova, an activist of the Dagestani Regional Public Organization (DRPO) "Pravozaschita" (Advocacy), and residents of Buynaksk Shamil Magomedov and Danyal Ilyasov for two months.

A policeman from the Khasavyurt GOVD (City Interior Division) has threatened Sapiyat Magomedova, who is defending the interests of the detained Rizvan Yakubov. The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) upheld the complaint about inhumane treatment filed by Shakir Rzakhanov, who is serving his life sentence in Azerbaijan. The ECtHR pronounced that Shakir Rzakhanov is to receive the amount of 7500 euros as compensation for moral damages and the other amount of 2000 euros is to be paid to the applicant as compensation for legal costs.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has ruled on the application about disappearance in 2000 of Beslan Baisultanov, a resident of Chechnya, and ordered Russia to pay 64,000 euros to three of his female relatives. This is stated in the today's decision of the Court after consideration of the case "Baisultanova et al versus Russia".

Today, the head of Ingushetia Yunus-Bek Evkurov asked the Russian president to dismiss him from his post before term. Putin agreed and appointed Evkurov the acting head of the republic till the election.
