On November 9, Sochi closed the 13th International Children's Festival of Arts and Sports "Kinotavrik". The festival participants have noted that the contest of films about children with disabilities failed to arouse great interest of the audience; however, they find it necessary to put this contest on the next year's programme.

The explosion of the store "24 Hours" in Makhachkala killed one person and wounded two, Dagestani investigators report. The Basmanny Court of Moscow has extended the arrest of Said Amirov, Mayor of Makhachkala, who was dismissed from office. According to the Judge's decision, Said Amirov will stay in custody till February 28, 2014.

The European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) has issued the next decision on the complaint filed by residents of Chechnya regarding the disappearance of their relatives. According to the ECtHR's decision, the complainants are to receive compensation in the amount of about 200,000 euros.

In Moscow, one of the jurors in the case of the murder of journalist Anna Politkovskaya was disqualified from the jury, since he himself had been earlier sentenced for murder.
