Kuban activist Darya Polyudova, sentenced on charges of extremism, has filed an appeal against the verdict to the Presidium of the Russian Supreme Court (SC). This was reported by the Darya Polyudova's mother. The woman noted that her daughter intends to declare a hunger strike.

During the eight years passed since the murders of advocate Stanislav Markelov and Anastasia Baburova, a journalist of the newspaper "Novaya Gazeta", the human rights situation in Russia has deteriorated, and the authorities are engaged in aggressive propaganda of hatred and xenophobia through the media controlled by them.
