Abusupyan Kharkharov, a candidate for the State Duma from the "Edinaya Rossiya" (ER) (United Russia) Party, has lost the election to Abdulmazhid Magramov in the Southern Single-Mandate Constituency No. 12 after a fight and ballot stuffing at the polling station in the village of Gotsatl and suspicious voting in the Kulin District.

In Kuban, at a polling station in the Cossack village of Rodnikovskaya, after crossing out from ballots the name of a candidate who withdrew himself from the elections, marks were made in a box for voting. The election commission has recognized the ballots as valid, since it fails to ensure that the marks were made by members of the election commission, and not by voters.

The President of Russia has signed a decree to award the title of Hero of Russia to Magomed Nurbagandov, a Dagestani policeman, who was killed after under the threat of violence he had refused to urge his colleagues to leave the law enforcement bodies.

In North Ossetia, the elections of deputies to the State Duma were held without gross violations. This was reported by Konstantin Kadiev, the chairman of the Election Commission for North Ossetia.
