Lom-Ali Gaitukaev, sentenced in the case of the Anna Politkovskaya's murder, died in the penal colony, presumably, from his long-term decease, reports the Department for the Vologda Region of the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN).

A case against Ali Kveshov, a local resident, has been sent to the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan. He is accused of a number of crimes, including involvement in an illegal armed formation (IAF), an attempt on life of a law enforcer, and robbery.

300 people gathered by the beginning of the action. It was held in the form of a walk along the central streets of the city, and about 200 people joined the activists along their way.

Today, Marat Ismailov, an organizer of the anticorruption rally in Makhachkala, has been brought to a police station. He was obliged to write a recognizance to "refuse committing unlawful acts."

In Rostov-on-Don, an action of Alexei Navalny's supporters and members of the "Open Russia" is being held under monitoring of law enforcers.

In the capital of Chechnya, the "Parade of the Peoples of Russia" in honour of Russia Day is expected to be attended by several thousand people. This was reported by the Grozny City Mayor's Office. Public employees and students claimed that they were obliged to take part in the march.

Some residents of Chechnya treat the change of the name for the "Terek" FC (Football Club) to "Akhmat" as a conjuncture decision. They believe there are already enough objects in the republic named after Akhmat Kadyrov.

On June 14, the village of Terekli-Mekteb of the Nogai District will host a congress in protest against the plans of the Dagestani authorities to award the villages located in the lands of free-range animal husbandry the status of dwelling settlements.
