Most of the residents of the Karachay-Cherkessian Republic (KChR) interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have stated their indifference to the amendments, or their disagreement with them.

Chingiz Akhmadov, an active critic of the oppositional blogger, Tumso Abdurakhmanov, who headed the "Chechnya Today" News Agency, has been appointed by Kadyrov to the post of the head of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Company). This appointment was expected; it has greatly increased Akhmedov's power in countering Tumso and fighting any dissent, the republic's residents interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.

The Baku Court of Appeal (BCA) has dismissed the complaint lodged by the defence of the Azerbaijani politician Tofig Yagublu, leaving him under arrest for two months.

A 27-year-old resident of Dagestan was shot dead on the territory of the Open Joint-Stock Company (OJSC) "Makhachkalavodokanal", the Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation (ICRF) reports. The killed man was identified as Abdulbasir Omarov, a nephew of Magomedrasul Omarov, the former director of the "Dagavtodor" and the Dagestani branch of the Department for the Road Management "Kaspiy". Men suspected of the murder and complicity are sons of a member of the People's Assembly of Dagestan and the former head of the Shamil District.

In Kaspiysk, only people with special permits were allowed to enter a square to watch the today's Victory Parade. Residents of Kaspiysk and Makhachkala, who were not allowed to watch the parade, criticized organizers.

In Pyatigorsk, a court pronounced a decision to recognize authorities' refusal to sanction rallies as illegal. However, colleagues of Abdulmumin Gadjiev suggest that the authorities of Dagestan will find some other ways to prevent rallies in support of the arrested journalist.

252 Azerbaijani citizens, who could not leave Dagestan after the border closure because of coronavirus, have returned to their homeland, the country's operative headquarters has informed. The updated list of the "Alliance for Freedom of Political Prisoners of Azerbaijan" includes three new names. In total, the list contains 158 people.

On June 22, in Azerbaijan, the Court of Appeal left rapper Elshan Teimurov under custody. The rapper was subjected to 60 days of administrative arrest. The young man denied the accusations of drug trafficking and disobedience to the police and said he was being prosecuted for performing a critical song, the rapper's father reports.

Mindiya Goradze was detained in Belarus after, on June 20, a court in Turkey ruled to release him from arrest and ordered him to leave the country within 24 hours. On June 22, Goradze's relatives staged a protest rally in Batumi at which they demanded that the authorities extradite him to Georgia.

A compromise figure has been appointed the Imam in the Dagestani village of Tsiyab-Ichichali, where residents had turned to Ramzan Kadyrov because of their contradictions with the Muftiate; the conflict has been settled, the head of the village has informed. The Ramzan Kadyrov's public reaction to the villagers' appeal will provoke a negative reaction in Dagestan, the analysts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" believe.
