Human rights defenders and activists who came out in support of the Institute for Humanitarian Research in Kabardino-Balkaria after searches at scientists’ houses have been summoned by the police to write explanation letters about the alleged dissemination of slander.

The Khasavyurt District Court has found Eduard Ataev, a former coordinator of Navalny's* office in Makhachkala, guilty of possession of an explosive device and narcotic drugs. He was sentenced to six years and five months in a penal colony.
