The residents of Dagestan, who have received summons from commissariats (military registration and enlistment offices), said that they were worried about their wives and children, who would be left without their support.

Investigators from Nizhny Novgorod have begun checking the applications about possible abuse of authority by law enforcers during the detention of Zarema Musaeva. The check was launched only after the applications were transferred from Chechnya to Nizhny Novgorod, the "Team against Torture" (TaT)* has informed.

No partial mobilization will be held in Chechnya. It follows from the report of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (Chechen State TV and Radio Broadcasting Company). Ramzan Kadyrov, who had earlier criticized the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD), has explained this by saying that his republic has already exceeded the plan of sending fighters to Ukraine.

First groups of those mobilized have left Makhachkala, Kaspiysk and Krasnodar. In the Volgograd Region, collection points for the mobilized servicemen are organized in local houses of culture. The governor of the Stavropol Territory has reported that the first group will be sent to Ukraine on September 23.

Kadyrov's treatment of mobilization opponents as people's enemies stems from his fear of mass protests organized by conscripts' mothers, Svetlana Gannushkina has noted. Chechen authorities are afraid of mass protests and severely suppress any public expression of disagreement, Ruslan Kutaev has added.

The “Caucasian Knot” has reported that on September 21, protestactions against the mobilization took place in Krasnodar and Volgograd. According to human rights defenders, 14 people were detained in Krasnodar.

In Baksan, women came out to protest against the announced partial mobilization. An official urged the protestors “not to make a fuss,” but his statement outraged the audience.

Ramzan Kadyrov expressed his strong dissatisfaction with the exchange of prisoners of war (POWs), which was organized by the Russian Ministry of Defence (MoD) and the FSB. According to the leader of Chechnya, the exchange of POWs took place on Ukrainian terms.

After the announcement of partial mobilization, militaries will not be able to terminate their contract until its expiration date, but it is not known for how long the mobilization has been announced.

Ramzan Kadyrov has stated that he is ready to "reach" Akhmed Zakaev, who lives in the UK, at any cost, offering his fellow countrymen living abroad to kill Zakaev, the Premier of the self-proclaimed Ichkeria, in exchange for pardoning and return to Chechnya.

In Grozny, law enforcers have stopped a protest held by the mothers who responded to the call to come out to protest against mobilization; and the women who travelled to the rally from the Shali District were detained on the way.

In Volgograd, law enforcers have detained eight participants of the action against the announced partial mobilization. A policeman claimed the absence of documents as the reason for detaining at least two of them.

The recruitment of volunteers for Ukraine will continue, despite the partial mobilization announced today in Russia; and the self-mobilization offered by the head of Chechnya will remain relevant, the military experts interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have predicted.

A criminal case against Elena Sumina, a resident of Maikop, who is accused of disseminating fake news about the Russian Armed Forces, has been filed with the Maikop City Court.
