The state and the administration of the SIZO (pre-trial prison) shall respond for the death of the Azerbaijani political activist Mekhman Galandarov, since they are in charge for safety and health of their prisoners, human rights activists have stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has learned about the death of the activist Mekhman Galandarov, who had been declared a political prisoner by Azerbaijani rights defenders, from Ogtai Gyulyalyev, the head of the public alliance "Azerbaijan without Political Prisoners".According to Mr Gyulyalyev, Mekhman had committed suicide, although there is still no information about his suicide note.
