The action of animal rights activists preceded the protests of supporters of Georgia's Euro-integration.

On the 711th day of continuous protests, those gathered in the center of Tbilisi called not to yield to the regime. Prior to this, animal rights activists gathered outside the government administration building, demanding punishment for all those responsible for the killing of stray animals.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the march "Georgia Against Ivanishvili" took place in the center of Tbilisi on the 710th day of daily protests. Its participants demanded a change in the country's policy and the release of people deprived of freedom due to their participation in protest actions.

Today marks the 711th day of continuous protest action – citizens gathered in front of the parliament building and the Tbilisi City Council. Protesters, as in previous days, demanded a return of the country to a Euro-Atlantic course, the release of political prisoners, the abolition of repressive mechanisms, and the holding of elections in a free and fair environment, reports Publika.

Demonstrators held national flags of Georgia, flags of the European Union and the USA, some also brought flags of Ukraine. Participants of the gathering held placards: "Do not yield", "Collapse of the regime", "Bidzina-Satan", and "Leave", according to photos on the page of photographer Giorgi Mosiashvili (Mo Se) on Facebook*.

Near the government administration building in Tbilisi, a protest against the mass killing of stray animals also took place today. Participants of the action demanded that the investigative authorities punish specific individuals involved in the deaths of stray dogs, reports the Pirveli television company.

Georgian activists called on the prosecutor's office to investigate the circumstances of the death and burial of dogs on the outskirts of Tbilisi and to compare them with information received from owners about the disappearance of animals.

In particular, protesters demanded accountability for the employees of the Tbilisi and Gori animal supervision agencies, as well as the leaders of the National Food Agency.

Many people came to the action with their pets, some held placards: "They have already betrayed them once", "Do not use violence", "Citizens demand to imprison all murderers", "Life is not trash that you sweep off the streets", "Where have you put our friends?" and "Now it's your loyalty's turn".

"Our categorical demand is to immediately stop zoofascism, which has already turned into ordinary fascism thanks to Kaladze. If we tolerate this, alongside the killing of dogs, it will already spread to people, which Kaladze has already mentioned," said activist Lasha Chkhartishvili at the action.

Let us remind you that Chkhartishvili complained to the prosecutor's office about Tbilisi Mayor Kaha Kaladze, who stated that it was necessary to "take and euthanize" animal rights activists protesting against the killing of stray dogs.

Participants in the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections since November 28, 2024, and the release of political prisoners. Security forces have conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detained protesters. During the protests, thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution. "Caucasian Knot" has prepared a reference "Main points on the persecution of protest participants in Georgia".
