The passage of trucks is prohibited on the Military-Georgian Road.

The Military-Georgian Road is closed to heavy trucks due to worsening weather conditions.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", as of November 5, drivers of 1008 heavy trucks were waiting to leave North Ossetia via the Military-Georgian Road.

The Military-Georgian Road on the section from Vladikavkaz to Lars has been closed to heavy trucks in both directions from 19:00 on November 8 until further notice, the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia in North Ossetia reported.

The restrictions were introduced due to the inability to ensure the safe passage of vehicles, as well as taking into account the recommendations of the border police of Georgia:

"The Main Directorate of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Russia for the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania strongly recommends refraining from traveling in this direction," the message states.

According to the agency, on November 9, there is a risk of damage to federal and local roads, cable cars, buildings, communication lines, and power lines in mountainous areas due to heavy precipitation and ice.

Recall that the Military-Georgian Road is the only highway that allows passage from Russia to Georgia and Armenia.

Advice for those who decided to travel by car on the Military-Georgian Road has been compiled by "Caucasian Knot" in the reference "To Georgia by car: how not to get stuck at the Upper Lars checkpoint".
