Residents of Nalchik criticized officials for the state of pedestrian infrastructure.

The approaches to the pedestrian crossing near the residential complex "Esfera City" in Nalchik are not equipped with sidewalks, and pedestrians have to walk on the ground with gravel and navigate around parked cars, complained a local resident on social media. Other residents of Nalchik, commenting on her complaint, shared the dangers of the crossing: one resident with a stroller was nearly hit by a car. Citizens criticized officials and demanded the redesign of the interchange.

One local resident filmed a video of the approaches to the pedestrian crossing at the "Esfera City" residential complex on Tlostanova Street in Nalchik. The video shows that from the paved area with steps at the building to the road, there is a section without pavement, where cars are parked.

At the crossing along the curb, there is an uneven strip of ground with gravel and stones. At the end of the recording, a person with a backpack steps onto the marked crossing. The video was published by the Instagram*-public goloskbr.

As of 13:40 MSK on November 7, the video in the Instagram*-public goloskbr, which has about 194 thousand followers, received 268 likes and 97 comments.

Residents of Nalchik complained in the comments that it is difficult to cross the road at the interchange on the way to the pharmacy and school. "From the side of the 'Esfera', to get to the pharmacy, you have to cross two roads at once. Cars immediately come out from the new 'super road' onto the pedestrian crossing. It’s like there’s nowhere to run," noted mariana.ibragimova_.

"I became afraid to cross the road there, and when you walk from the stop near the 'Gallery' and need to cross the road to the pharmacy, it’s completely unclear," admitted ismailovaaksana.

"From the side of the 'Gallery', we also go, not knowing where and how to cross the road. We, adults, get lost, what about the children?! How are they supposed to walk?" asked parfum_miracle_.

Residents of Nalchik complained that this area is dangerous for pedestrians. "Yesterday I barely passed with a stroller, I had to lift it to cross the road," shared _djama_b.

"With a stroller, it’s a whole quest, now you don’t roll it, you carry it," noted lyanahr07.

"I came out of the pharmacy with a stroller, I was almost hit before I realized it was a road," said zar_balkar21.03.19r.

Other participants in the discussion criticized the authorities and demanded the redesign of the interchange. "So many people are outraged, but the responsible persons don’t care. Are you doing this for the people or just to make money? If for the people, then make it convenient for them," urged arthur_kh07.

"Clearly, the entire public is against this! Why is there no reaction to this?" asked tima_neincognito.

"People, maybe we should all go there and show our dissatisfaction and outrage? Does the administration really think this will go unpunished and everyone will leave it as is? Redesign this mess!" demanded maiya2796.

As of 13:40 MSK on November 7, there are no comments on the Nalchik administration's website regarding citizens' complaints about the dangerous pedestrian area at the interchange on Tlostanova Street.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Nalchik periodically complain about conditions for pedestrians. For example, on September 18, citizens pointed out the lack of sidewalks and crossings on Atajukina Street. On February 23, 2024, residents of Nalchik achieved the restoration of lighting on Kaliningrad Street. On October 11, 2022, parents of schoolchildren demanded to arrange the road to the gymnasium on Tarchokova Street, where children had to walk through mud and in the dark.
