The funeral of Major Abakar Saidov, who was killed during the special military operation, took place in his native village of Gochob in the Charodinsky district. This was reported on November 5 by the district administration on their Telegram channel.
Abakar Saidov was born on May 14, 1990, in the village of Kochubey in the Tarumovsky district. He grew up in the village of Yuzhny in the Kizlyar district and then continued his education in the village of Tsurib. In 2018, he graduated from the Military Academy of Logistics.
During his years of service, he rose from a soldier to a major, served in various military units, performed special tasks in the Syrian Arab Republic, and was a veteran of combat operations.
Since March 2022, he participated in the special military operation. He was awarded the medal "For Courage".
Thus, at least 2208 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, as stated in the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
At the end of October, the Charodinsky district said goodbye to Gadji Malamagomedov from the village of Charoda, a participant in the special military operation, who had been listed as missing since August 7, 2024.
Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District in the number of killed in the military operation whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. In February 2022, Sergey Melikov, who was then the head of Dagestan, was the first among the authorities to report that a Russian military officer, Nurmagomed Gadjimagametov, had been killed in Ukraine.
State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material of "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how the authorities deprive the families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. For instance, the mother of the killed Dmitry Ukhanov said that she searched for her son's body for four months, while officials from the administration and military enlistment office inquired about the progress of the search without providing any assistance.
