The name of the soldier killed in Ukraine from the Rostov region has been revealed.

Andrey Morgunov from the Proletarsky District was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have officially recognized at least 1065 combatants from the Rostov region as killed there.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by November 3, authorities and security forces officially recognized at least 1064 fighters from the Rostov region as killed in Ukraine.

The name of another soldier killed in Ukraine was announced by the administration of the Proletarsky District of the Rostov region, reporting on the unveiling of his memorial plaque.

The plaque with the name Andrey Morgunov was installed on the building of the sports center “Leader” in Proletarsk, which has also been named after him since September. Officials explained that Morgunov “made considerable efforts for its opening.”

According to the information on the plaque, Andrey Morgunov worked as a coach at the Proletarsk Sports School until 2023. He was killed on June 19, 2025, at the age of 57. He was posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, as well as the medals “For Combat Distinction” and Suvorov, according to a publication in the official Telegram channel of the municipality.

Thus, at least 1065 servicemen from the Rostov region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. The "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, as stated in the report of the "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".

In October, the administration of the Proletarsky District reported that Ruslan Plotitsyn and Sergey Kolts were killed in Ukraine.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material of the "Caucasian Knot" "Three Comrades Served: how authorities deprive the families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of fighters from other regions. "He has two Orders of Courage. But no official honors have been given to his family," said, in particular, a relative of one of them.
