The FAS reported on agreements regarding gasoline prices in three regions of southern Russia.
Agreements with operators who own gas stations in the Volgograd, Rostov regions, and the Stavropol Territory have been concluded by the authorities with the assistance of the antimonopoly service. The purpose of such agreements is to ensure price restraint at gas stations.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the Krasnodar office of the FAS initiated cases against five owners of gas station networks for violating antimonopoly legislation due to a sharp rise in retail fuel prices.
Regions, with the assistance of the Federal Antimonopoly Service, have concluded 146 agreements to stabilize fuel prices, signed by 52 regions. 46 agreements have been made with operators who own more than 20 gas stations in 30 regions, including the Volgograd, Rostov regions, and the Stavropol Territory. The main goal of such agreements is to stabilize the situation with prices in the fuel market and ensure price restraint.
Additionally, 76 cases have been initiated against a number of oil companies and independent participants in the oil products market, with 109 warnings issued for signs of violating antimonopoly legislation.
"Caucasian Knot" reported that at the end of August, the owner of the gas station "Stepnaya" reduced fuel prices after a warning from the agency. Prices also decreased at the gas stations of four networks against which cases had been initiated by that time.
