A resident of Kabardino-Balkaria is suspected of financing terrorism.

Law enforcement detained a 25-year-old resident of Kabardino-Balkaria, suspected of transferring money to members of terrorist organizations.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in April, the FSB of Kabardino-Balkaria reported the detention of a 38-year-old local resident, suspected of financing terrorism. According to law enforcement, the man collected money and transferred it to the accounts of members of terrorist structures located outside of Russia.

A 25-year-old local resident has been detained in Kabardino-Balkaria, suspected of financially supporting international terrorist organizations, the press service of the republican FSB reported.

According to the agency, the detainee transferred money to the accounts of members of terrorist structures that are located outside of Russia, reports today RIA "Kabardino-Balkaria".

A criminal case has been initiated against the man under part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, the publication notes. It does not specify the amounts involved or the accounts to which the money was transferred.

Part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (assisting terrorist activities or financing terrorism) provides for a sentence of eight years to life imprisonment.
