The schoolboy's joke in Dagestan about an attack on the school turned into a criminal case.

In Dagestan, a criminal case was initiated against a 15-year-old schoolboy after a false report of an armed attack on an educational institution. The teenager admitted that he called the emergency service as a joke.

According to the investigation, two weeks ago an unknown young man called the unified duty dispatch service and reported that an armed attack had been carried out on the school in the village of Verkhnee Kazanishche.

Police arrived at the educational institution, but the check did not confirm the schoolboy's information – no explosive devices or explosives were found in the building or on the adjacent territory, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Dagestan reported today on its Telegram channel.

On the same day, law enforcement identified the caller. It turned out to be a 15-year-old student of the same school. The minor admitted that he took a classmate's phone and called the duty dispatch service as a joke.

A criminal case has been initiated against him under part 2 of article 207 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (knowingly false report of an act of terrorism). The sanctions of the article provide for imprisonment for a term of three to five years.

The agency reminded in the message that criminal liability for such a crime arises from the age of 14.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that a resident of Krasnodar was sentenced to three years and three months in a settlement colony, who reported a bombing of a bank branch in Adygea and stated his readiness to disclose the location of the bomb after transferring money to his account.
