As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in Yerevan, activists periodically hold rallies demanding the release of prisoners whose prosecution they consider unjust. This concerns prisoners in Russia as well as in European countries. For instance, on October 25, at the German embassy in Yerevan, protesters expressed support for Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation from Germany to Russia.
Today, a picket was held at the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of Russian prisoners. Participants of the rally demanded their release. They held posters depicting former governor of the Khabarovsk region Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko, reported the Telegram channel RusNews.
Also today in Yerevan, several activists held a rally at the German embassy in support of Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation to Russia after his release. According to the participants of the rally, the prison administration positively assesses Bagrash's work and behavior but does not ease the conditions of his detention. The reason is that he does not admit guilt, noted the Telegram channel in another publication.
Recall that the court sentenced Sergey Furgal to 23 years in prison. In December 2025, he received a new sentence – Furgal was found guilty on economic charges under the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, with a total sentence of 25 years.
According to German authorities, in 2022, Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin. The investigation believes that Bagrash placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived. The bomb did not go off and was later found by police, reported the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel on June 22 on its website.
On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, he held rallies against Vladimir Putin's policies, noted the publication.
