The seizure of gold bars from the family of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court raised questions about the corruption of judges.
More than a thousand gold bars and coins have been seized from the family of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, the bailiff service reported. Residents of Kuban, commenting on this information on social media, demanded an investigation into the legality of the court decisions made by Chernov, as well as complained about the widespread corruption of judges in the southern regions of Russia.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", in April of this year, the Oktyabrsky District Court of Krasnodar seized property belonging to the family of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, valued at about 900 million rubles. Real estate, 22 million rubles from the defendants' accounts, and 36 kilograms of gold in bars and coins were transferred to the state.
Chernov headed the Krasnodar Regional Court since 1994. In 2019, upon reaching the maximum age of 70 for a judge, he retired. In November 2025, the Supreme Qualification Collegium of Judges of the Russian Federation revoked his status as a retired judge. He currently resides in Cyprus, TASS reported on October 31.

"As part of the enforcement proceedings against the family members of the former chairman of the Krasnodar Regional Court, Alexander Chernov, and other individuals, the bailiffs transferred more than a thousand gold bars and coins to the Gokhran of Russia," Aristov said on October 31.
A post stating that more than a thousand gold bars and coins were seized from the family of Alexander Chernov was published on the social network "VKontakte" by the public page "Everything is fine, this is Krasnodar," which has about 130,000 subscribers. As of 08:55 Moscow time on November 1, this post received 110 reactions and 23 comments from users.
"And at the same time, imagine how many people are sitting on false charges. After all, they didn't give him millions for his pretty eyes," wrote Ludmila Gorlacheva.
"There will be a court session now, the appeal has canceled the decision twice, I'm going for the third round, and after this article, I feel sad. I am just a simple pensioner fighting against such a system. But if everyone defends their rights for a long time and tediously, the system will break. I know for sure: I sued the tax office, reached the Supreme Court, and, oh miracle, I won," noted Marina Dedneva.
"Gold bars! If I took everything from my relatives, there wouldn't be even 50 grams. What a day they take. And how many courts and lives have been ruined for these gold bars?" asked Andrey Smirnov.
"Just start gutting all judges, not only regional ones but also district ones. You will be shocked at how the budget can be replenished," believes Seriy V.
There are dozens of such cases, and thousands across the country.
