Chechen security forces reported on raids in stores.
Representatives of the Security Council of Chechnya and the Grozny City Hall reported on raids to prevent the sale of energy drinks and cigarettes to minors, which are being conducted on the orders of the Secretary of the Security Council Adam Kadyrov.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", Instagram users sarcastically commented on Ramzan Kadyrov's tasting of a new energy drink. In a video posted on Kadyrov's Telegram channel, he takes a sip from a can of energy drink and hands it to the Prime Minister of Chechnya, Daudov, who says: "K13" - the best energy drink!" It should be noted that in Chechnya, the number "K13", like the call sign "Dustum", is informally reserved for people connected to the son of the head of Chechnya, Adam Kadyrov.
Employees of the Security Council of the Chechen Republic, together with representatives of the capital's city hall, are conducting preventive raids in retail outlets, the Chechen Security Council reported today. "The events are organized on the orders of the Assistant Head of the Chechen Republic, Secretary of the Security Council of the Chechen Republic Adam Kadyrov," the report emphasizes.
Vendors are reminded that the sale of energy drinks and tobacco products to minors is prohibited by law. Informational reminders are also placed in stores. "As noted by the participants of the raids, employees of retail outlets are understanding of the explanatory work. Such events are held regularly and are intended to remind sellers of their duty to comply with established restrictions and protect the health of the younger generation," the report states.
According to a video from the "Vainakh" television company, several officials and security personnel enter small retail outlets, lining up at the entrance.
Kadyrov and energy drinks: from hatred to love
In 2012, Ramzan Kadyrov stated the need to ban energy drinks in Chechnya. "There is a widespread misconception that energy drinks are harmless to humans. But doctors have proven that they harm health, cause exhaustion, depression, or uncontrolled aggression. And what do we see on the shelves of stores? Beautifully packaged cans containing this poison are openly sold everywhere. I believe that there is an urgent need to legally prohibit the sale of energy drinks in the republic today," Kadyrov was quoted by Interfax.
In April 2013, the Chechen parliament adopted a law banning the retail sale of energy drinks. However, in 2018, amendments were made to the text of the law, leaving in force only the prohibition on the sale of such drinks "in buildings, structures, facilities, and premises used for the direct implementation of educational activities, medical activities, activities in the field of culture, physical culture, and sports." This follows from the text of the amendments posted in the electronic fund of regulatory and technical and legal information of the consortium "Code."
"And now, 13 years after the adoption of this law, the head of Chechnya and the chairman of the republic's government openly advertise an energy drink. What about the adopted law and Kadyrov's words that energy drinks are poison?" - wonders a reader of the "Caucasian Knot" under the nickname isreal.
It is worth noting that in March 2025, the owner of the company "Chechen Mineral Waters," which produces mineral water and carbonated drinks, became Aishat Kadyrova, the daughter of the head of Chechnya. The company's website states that it produces mineral water, juices and nectars, cold teas, snacks, carbonated drinks, and energy drinks.
The head of Chechnya has 10 biological children - six daughters (Aishat, Karina (Khadijat), Hedi (Khutmat), Tabarik, Ashura, and Eishat) and four sons (Akhmat, Zelimkhan, Adam, Abdullah), according to the biographical reference of Ramzan Kadyrov from the "Caucasian Knot."
Almost the entire management system in Chechnya is personally tied to Ramzan Kadyrov and people close to him. According to estimates made in 2018, about a third of all senior officials in Chechnya are relatives of Kadyrov, 23% are fellow villagers, and another 12% are friends of the head of Chechnya and their relatives. According to political scientists, the personnel policy of the head of Chechnya is aimed at strengthening the positions of his family and promoting the interests of the Kadyrov clan.
