Officials reported the normalization of the gasoline situation in the Volgograd region.
The Committee on Industrial Policy, Trade and the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Volgograd Region announced the overcoming of the gasoline crisis and stabilization of the situation. However, officials did not inform about the lifting of limits and restrictions. Gasoline is available at most gas stations, users indicated.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the authorities of the Volgograd region stated that due to a new fuel supply scheme, the situation with its availability at gas stations has become controllable. Local residents, however, doubted the authorities' data, noting that gasoline is either completely unavailable at gas stations or can only be purchased without queues early in the morning. On October 17, the governor of the region dismissed the head of the Committee on Industrial Policy, Trade and the Fuel and Energy Complex of the Volgograd Region, Vladimir Shkarupelov, without naming the reasons. Residents of Volgograd reported on October 20 that the situation with fuel availability has not improved; at many gas stations it is still unavailable, and at those where it is for sale, queues are forming.
