The number of killed fighters in Ukraine from southern Russia reached 9900
At least 4928 fighters from the North Caucasus Federal District and 4972 from the Southern Federal District have been officially recognized as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.

"Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and the Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses for southern Russia are increasing".

Recall that on September 21, 2022, Vladimir Putin announced "partial mobilization". On October 28 of the same year, the Minister of Defense reported to the President about its completion, but no corresponding decree followed. After the announcement of mobilization, attempts to mobilize people who, due to age or health conditions, should not be sent to the combat zone were recorded in the southern regions of Russia.

On October 4, 2022, the governor of the Volgograd region reported that military enlistment offices mistakenly mobilized 379 residents of the region, most of whom were not fit for service due to health reasons.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee families of the killed support from the state, according to the material of "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. "I receive only 12 thousand rubles a month for two minor children as a family of military pensioners," said, in particular, the widow of one of the killed.
