15 settlements in Dagestan were affected by the power outage.
As a result of accidents in the power grid, more than 30 thousand residents of Dagestan were left without electricity.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 28, after short circuits in the power grid, electricity supply was interrupted in 13 settlements of the Kizilyurt, Tarumov, and Khiv districts. Earlier, according to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, emergency outages also occurred in the Gunib district. The consequences of the accident were eliminated the same day.
On October 29, an emergency power outage occurred in 15 settlements of six municipalities, reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Dagestan on its website.
"As a result of the emergency power outage in 15 settlements of 6 municipalities, 7401 houses remain without electricity, where 30675 people live, including 7508 children, 22 social facilities (cause - short circuits)," the publication states.
To eliminate the consequences of the accident, six teams from the district power grids consisting of 18 people were dispatched. "As of 20:00, 2 settlements in the Derbent district remain without electricity," the agency noted.
Specialists from "Dagenergo" are eliminating the consequences of the accidents, reported on their Telegram channel "Dagenergo".
"Energy workers are restoring power supply disrupted by strong winds to some consumers in individual settlements of the Derbent, Kizlyar, and Khassavyurt districts of Dagestan, as well as on several streets of Makhachkala. The day before, the branch of 'Rosseti North Caucasus' - 'Dagenergo' introduced a state of heightened readiness due to worsening weather conditions," the publication states.
On October 1, the electricity tariff in Dagestan increased by 11.3%. Residents of the republic noted that the tariff increase occurred against the backdrop of regular power supply interruptions.
Recall that on October 23, emergency power outages also occurred in Dagestan, affecting 11 settlements in the Khassavyurt, Khunzakh, Derbent, and Sergokalinsky districts. The consequences of the accident were eliminated the same day.
Residents of Dagestan have repeatedly complained about power outages and have taken to spontaneous protests because of this. For example, on August 13, Makhachkala residents blocked traffic due to a three-day power outage. Energy workers explained the outage by damage to a facility on private property. A similar protest took place a week earlier, on August 6.
Unresolved issues in the housing and utilities sector are a factor in the growth of protest activity in Dagestan, said Sergey Bachurin, head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District, on January 19. Makhachkala residents agreed with his opinion.
