A new group of fighters has been sent from Grozny to the combat zone in Ukraine, reported the head of Chechnya.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the authorities of Chechnya regularly report on the sending of groups of fighters from the republic to the zone of the military operation in Ukraine. In mid-October, the head of the republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, reported on the sending of a new group of military personnel.

The total number of fighters sent from Chechnya to the zone of the Russian operation in Ukraine has reached 78,720, reported Ramzan Kadyrov on October 22. He disclosed this information following a meeting with representatives of the security bloc, where the head of the republic's government, Magomed Daudov, presented the report on the figures.

A new group of volunteers has been sent from the International Airport Grozny named after Akhmat-Haji Kadyrov to the zone of the special military operation, Ramzan Kadyrov reported today on his Telegram channel.

According to Kadyrov, before departure, all of them underwent training at the base of the Russian Special Forces University named after Putin. "The fund provided the fighters with equipment and gear, as well as ensured transportation to Gudermes, accommodation, and necessary conditions for training," the regional head's message states.

The data on the total number of fighters sent from Chechnya since February 24, 2022, does not account for the number of military personnel who have been discharged, are in barracks, on leave, or have left the combat zone as part of rotation. At the same time, regular reports from the Chechen authorities about sending groups of fighters raise doubts that all of them are going to participate in battles voluntarily, users of social networks pointed out.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that volunteers arriving in Chechnya to sign a military contract complained in January 2025 that they were kept locked up for weeks to be sent to the military operation zone instead of local residents who had paid to avoid service. According to human rights defenders, coercion to sign contracts is practiced in Chechnya, and security forces may create an 'exchange fund' from incoming volunteers from other regions.

The Russian Special Forces University is a training center organized by Ramzan Kadyrov in Gudermes, where training is conducted for volunteers to be sent to combat zones, and the "Akhmat" special forces are based.
