Water supply has been restored to four villages in Dagestan.

Specialists eliminated the consequences of the accident, after which residents of four villages in the Karabudakhkent district were left without water.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 28, a breakthrough occurred in the main water pipeline near Makhachkala airport. As a result, from October 29 to 31, the residents of four settlements in the Karabudakhkent district: Manaskent, Zelenomorsk, Ulu-Biy-Aul, and Achchi-Su will be without water supply, announced the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

The water supply was resumed last night, reported the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Dagestan on its website.

"At 03:00 [MSK], emergency recovery work in 4 settlements of the Karabudakhkent district (Manaskent, Zelenomorsk, Ulu-Biy-Aul, Achchi-Su) has been completed, and the system [water supply] is being filled," the publication states.

Recall that residents of Dagestan have repeatedly complained about prolonged power outages, heating issues, and water supply problems. For instance, on January 25, a break occurred in a pipeline in Makhachkala, leaving residents without water for almost two days.

Unresolved issues in the housing and utilities sector are a factor in the growth of protest activity in Dagestan, stated the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the North Caucasus Federal District, Sergey Bachurin, on January 19. Residents of Makhachkala agreed with his opinion.
