The insurer stated in court that it lacked some materials in the case of the sunken tankers near Anapa.

The Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory postponed the consideration of the claim for compensation of expenses for eliminating the consequences of the tanker crash in the Kerch Strait. The insurer requested the postponement, citing the absence of some documents in the case.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 20, it became known that after the storm, bags of fuel oil, previously buried under gravel, were exposed on the beach in Myskhako near Novorossiysk. In a video recorded by an eco-activist, some of the bags were torn, and waves approached the area with waste. Meanwhile, on October 19, the administration of Novorossiysk acknowledged that the coastal strip of Myskhako remains heavily polluted with petroleum products, despite the cleanup efforts.

On September 14, 2026, the "Marine Rescue Service" increased the claim amount for compensation of costs related to the aftermath of the accident from 485.1 million to 1.2 billion rubles, including expenses until the end of 2025. The defendants in the case are "Kamatransoil" – the owner of "Volgoneft-212", "Kama Shipping" – the charterer of this vessel, "Volgatransneft" – the owner of "Volgoneft-239", as well as the insurance companies VSK and "Absolute Insurance".

The Arbitration Court of the Krasnodar Territory postponed the hearing on the combined claim of the administration of Anapa and the Marine Rescue Service after a representative of the insurance company "Absolute Insurance" requested this, citing the absence of some documents in the case, as reported today by RIA "Novosti".

The representative of the Marine Rescue Service opposed the postponement. "The court decided to grant the petition. To postpone the hearing to December 15," the agency quoted the judge's words.

Recall that the consequences of the fuel oil spill continue to affect the state of the coastline. Thus, on October 25, it became known that the storm washed away imported sand on the beaches of Anapa. According to ecologist Roman Pukalov, this sand covered the traces of fuel oil spills and allowed for the current year's resort season, but the first storm washed away a significant part of it. Imported sand differs from local sand in hardness and density, and due to clay inclusions, it soils shoes in rainy weather, the ecologist noted.

On December 15, 2024, two tankers carrying fuel oil crashed in the Kerch Strait. As a result, a crew member of one of the tankers died. In addition, there was a spill of petroleum products, leading to catastrophic environmental consequences, according to a report by "Caucasian Knot" "Fuel oil spill in the Kerch Strait".
