The shortage of buses and minibuses has complicated the journey for passengers from the Alagir and Right Bank districts to school and work.
There is a lack of public transport on the routes to the Alagir district and the villages of Stary Batako and Tsalyk in the Right Bank district of North Ossetia, which forces passengers to wait a long time for buses that arrive overcrowded, local residents complained on social media. Other locals, commenting on their complaint, mentioned waiting for minibuses for 40-50 minutes and demanded an increase in the number of buses and the return of minibuses to problematic routes.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 26, the transport committee of North Ossetia decided to raise the fare for minibuses in Vladikavkaz from 30 to 40 rubles instead of the 50 rubles proposed by carriers. Residents of the city criticized this decision, pointing out the inconvenient schedule, poor condition of transport, and lack of minibuses in the evening.
Passengers complained about the lack of public transport towards the Alagir district, as well as in the villages of Stary Batako and Tsalyk. According to one local resident, the buses heading to Alagir are so overcrowded that passengers remain at the stops even after additional transport arrives. In the villages of Stary Batako and Tsalyk, a small minibus cannot cope with the flow of passengers, causing residents, including students, to face difficulties in commuting to work and school.
There are so many passengers heading to the Alagir district that even an additional bus from the Beslan – Vladikavkaz route could not pick up all those waiting. In Tsalyk, according to residents, it is difficult to leave for school and work in the morning and return home in the evening. Locals have repeatedly complained about the lack of transport but have not received a response, reported the Instagram*-public chp_vladikavkaz on October 27.

Other locals confirmed in the comments that passengers have to wait a long time for public transport, and the arriving buses are often overcrowded. "Yesterday at the Gizelsky roundabout, I waited about 50 minutes, and only one bus, naturally packed, did not stop. I had to get to RKB, and it only left about 20 minutes later. It turns out that there is one bus per hour, while at least half of the residents of Alagir study and work in Vladikavkaz," wrote k.m.b1106.
"The fare of 40 rubles is noted, probably. Today I also waited about 30 minutes for a minibus, it arrived so full that people were almost sitting on the roof. I waited for the next minibus for about 40 minutes," shared lol.in.5764.
Other commentators pointed out the consequences of transport problems for working residents. "Do something for a clear schedule. How to live? Time is the most valuable resource! And we stand and wait for transport, while someone is waiting for me to make an injection on time, a parent brought a child to kindergarten, and the teacher is standing at the stop. This is chaos; you can't live in chaos!" exclaimed marianagrachevska.
Another topic of discussion was the increase in fare amidst the ongoing lack of transport. Commentators noted that the increase in fare is not accompanied by an improvement in the quality of passenger transport. "And we are raising prices for this kind of lawlessness. Provide transport first, then raise prices. How can you not be ashamed, government of the Republic of North Ossetia?" wrote za_mir00007.
"In the morning at 8, you can't leave from Alagir, and in the evening it's already difficult to arrive in Alagir. But when it comes to raising the fare to 80 rubles, it's easy. People endure... And the drivers are rude," complained esteladablava.
Some commentators suggested increasing the number of buses and returning minibuses to routes where passengers lack transport. "Why can't we return minibuses in addition to Alagir buses?" asked dzaantieva.
"Let private drivers in, and everything will be fine!" suggested 19tuloew81.
