Prolonged road works in Nalchik have given rise to criticism of officials.
Repair work on Shevtsova Street in Nalchik has dragged on for a month, and after laying new pipes, the street was flooded with water, a local resident complained on social media. Other residents, commenting on his complaint, pointed to interruptions in water supply, prolonged road repairs on other streets in the city, and criticized the work of the responsible services.
One of the residents of Nalchik complained about the prolonged repair of water supply networks on Shevtsova Street. According to him, the utility workers dug up the street and left trenches, and after a week delivered pipes that were not used due to the lack of work. Later, the workers reported that the pipes were mixed up, and after another week brought different ones. After laying new pipes, the street was flooded with water, and the consequences of the work also affected Krylov and Telman streets, claims the author of the complaint.
"We have been living in the trenches that the water utility made for a month now," says the local resident's appeal, which was published on October 24 by the Instagram*-public chp.nalchik. "Yesterday they laid new pipes and now the whole street is underwater," noted the Nalchik resident.

Commenters complained about interruptions in water supply, which they linked to the repair work. "This is why we have had no water for two days and, of course, no heating, they are doing nothing," wrote _0703_077.
"There is no water for days, how can this be? No washing, no cooking. They don't even warn us, they just gave water at one in the morning, and at five there was none. It's just torture! They sit there and work a spoonful at a time," complained zaia_ne__angel.
Other users criticized the duration of the repair work and pointed to similar problems on other streets in the city. "In general, the people of Nalchik are very patient. Even too much! It's just some kind of horror with these roads. How can it take more than seven months to fix the roads? You might as well write petitions! When you drive onto Tarchokova, you want to cry! When will this all end? Where can we complain?" complained holamhanovaa.
"It's just a bit upsetting... In the neighboring republic, they built an entire residential complex, and we can't even fix a miserable stretch of road," noted zxn85_.
"There isn't even the appropriate depth visible, the first good cold will crack everything," suggested so_slooooo.
"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of Nalchik periodically complain about the prolonged repair of roads and streets. Thus, on October 3, a local resident reported that the repair of Tarchokova Street has been ongoing since last year, while no equipment is working on the site, and residents of the area are facing interruptions in hot water supply. On September 29, citizens criticized the state of the road infrastructure at the intersection of Chernyshevsky and Zatishye streets, pointing to traffic jams, a lack of parking spaces, and the absence of well-equipped sidewalks.
