Restrictions on gasoline sales have been lifted in North Ossetia.
The authorities of North Ossetia announced the cancellation of gasoline sales limits at gas stations, stating that the fuel market has stabilized.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", long queues for gasoline at network gas stations in North Ossetia persist amid officials' reports of regular fuel supplies, drivers stated on October 23. They also mentioned that they had never seen students recruited by the authorities to maintain order at the gas stations.
On October 6, the authorities of North Ossetia reported the start of work by student volunteers at three gas stations in Vladikavkaz. The volunteers were supposed to help regulate traffic in queues and record traffic violations. Social media users doubted the effectiveness of this measure and also expressed concerns for the health of the students and the observance of their rights.
The volumes of fuel supplies at gas stations in North Ossetia have "significantly increased," which is why the republic has lifted restrictions on gasoline sales, the republican Ministry of Housing and Utilities reported today.
According to the agency, queues at gas stations have already decreased, and the overall situation in the regional fuel market is "stabilizing." "By order of the head of the region, Sergey Ivanovich Menyaylo, restrictions on fuel sales for residents have been lifted," quotes the words of the acting head of the agency, Timur Karaev, "Interfax-South."
Gasoline sales limits have also been lifted for drivers from other regions. Previously, there was a restriction of 20 liters of gasoline per transaction for vehicles registered in other regions or foreign countries, while vehicles with license plates from North and South Ossetia could refuel up to 40 liters.
Sergey Menyaylo reported today on his Telegram channel that North Ossetia has a reserve of 3,370 tons of gasoline, and over the past day, the republic received another 1,150 tons. In addition, another 1,840 tons of gasoline will arrive in North Ossetia soon.
The available reserve of diesel fuel in the republic is 1,450 tons. A supply of another 2,660 tons of diesel fuel is planned for the region in the coming days.
The average price of gasoline in North Ossetia in September was 87.08 rubles per liter, reported earlier by the North Caucasus Statistics. Drivers from the republic, commenting on this report on social media, noted that this price is not an indicator of fuel availability, as there are long queues at gas stations with cheap gasoline, while at stations without long waits, gasoline is significantly more expensive.
