Bloggers and ecologists have once again called for the removal of the crossing over the Anapka.

The crossing over the Anapka River has fulfilled its purpose of transporting sand to the beaches and should be dismantled. Now the river has turned into a swamp, which indirectly caused the death of fish.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the crossing over the Anapka River was built to fill the beaches with imported sand after an oil spill, and after the work was completed, the resort authorities planned to remove it. However, despite the fact that the sand transportation work has ended, the structure still remains, users on Telegram pointed out.

A large number of dead fish, foam of unknown origin, and an unpleasant smell have appeared in the Anapka River. "There is no current, the river gets polluted very quickly. Almost a swamp," — quotes "Morning Anapa" the words of blogger Natalia Veselova.

The blogger asked Mayor Svetlana Maslova to pay attention to the situation and find out the reasons for what is happening.

"Why hasn’t this structure been removed yet?" — was outraged in his Telegram channel blogger Andrey Makovozov. "The emergency regime has long been lifted, the oil has been removed, and the 'temporary' bridge... There is nothing more permanent than temporary, right?" — he asked, calling the situation in the river a "swamp."

The Anapka River needs to be returned to its pristine hydrological regime, pointed out ecologist, director of environmental programs at the organization "Green Patrol" Roman Pukalov.

"The hydrological regime of the river is currently severely disrupted by an artificial dam with low throughput — that very temporary hydraulic structure (HPS) at the mouth. It was necessary during the elimination of the consequences of the oil spill and the restoration of the beaches for the free passage of machinery. I do not claim that the death of fish occurred directly because of this HPS. But the fact that it critically slowed down water exchange and turned the river into a semi-stagnant reservoir is an undeniable fact," — he emphasized in his Telegram channel.

Most likely, the true culprit of the fish deaths is one of the farms located along the banks of the Anapka, which illegally discharged untreated wastewater into the water, believes the ecologist. "However, it is precisely because of the temporary dam that the ecosystem has become defenseless against such pollution. In stagnant water, the oxygen level drops rapidly, and toxic emissions are not washed away and concentrate in the river. Due to the disrupted hydrological regime, the resilience of the aquatic biocenosis to negative external impacts has now significantly decreased, so any similar discharge hits the river with triple force," — he wrote.

According to him, the HPS fulfilled its tasks during the elimination of the consequences of the oil spill, but now it has turned into a dangerous ecological thrombus. It is time to dismantle it. "Yesterday we discussed this issue with the decision-makers in Anapa. It was said that in the upcoming last week of October, this hydraulic structure will be dismantled," - assured the ecologist.
