In Dagestan, a family has achieved the right to receive housing compensation for a house destroyed during the flood, the ownership of which was not officially registered.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", as of October 16, over 3.7 billion rubles were received by more than 93 thousand residents of Dagestan affected during the flood.
The Lak District Court satisfied the claim of the family who lost their home during the flood in March-April of this year, writes RIA "Dagestan" on October 20.
According to the court's press service, during the flood, the walls and roof of the house where the family lived collapsed. An interdepartmental commission recognized that the house was completely lost and could not be restored, which grants the right to receive a state housing certificate.
However, it turned out that the family did not have official registration of ownership in the Unified State Register of Real Estate. The court examined the testimonies of neighbors, extracts from household books, and receipts for utility payments, based on which the fact of ownership and residence in the property was proven.
The court recognized equal shares of ownership rights to the house for the family members, allowing them to be included in the lists for receiving new housing.
Floods caused by heavy rains began in the North Caucasus at the end of March and became one of the most destructive in recent years. Dagestan and Chechnya were the most affected by the elements, according to the report of the "Caucasian Knot" "Spring Flooding in the North Caucasus-2026".
