A case has been filed in court against a resident of Volgograd who, three years ago, while still a minor, posted audio recordings with comments in Telegram that were recognized as propaganda of terrorism ideology and its justification.

The court has received a case against a resident of Volgograd who, according to the investigation, in October 2023, while still 16 years old, posted voice messages in one of the Telegram chats containing calls for violence and discrimination against various social and national groups, as well as propaganda of terrorism ideology, writes "Kommersant" on October 20.

Conclusions about the illegal nature of the young man's actions are based on the results of a psychological-linguistic examination. A criminal case has been initiated against the young man under part 2 of article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for terrorism, its justification, and propaganda using the internet) and part 2 of article 280 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (public calls for extremist activities online), informs "Rodnoy Gorod".

Earlier, "Caucasian Knot" reported that courts in southern Russia regularly sentence local residents to real prison terms for publications on social networks under the article on justification of terrorism via the internet. It is impossible to establish the actual number of such sentences, as not all cases of justification of terrorism make it into public court registries. For example, on October 20, a local resident Ivan Obolonin was arrested in Volgograd, accused of justifying terrorist activities due to comments in a messenger.
