Maris Magomedov and two of his compatriots from Dagestanskie Ogni were killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, authorities have publicly named at least 2172 soldiers killed there from Dagestan.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by October 19, officials and security forces officially recognized at least 2169 fighters from Dagestan as killed in the military operation in Ukraine.
The data on three more killed combatants from Dagestan was disclosed by the administration of the city of Dagestanskie Ogni, reporting on the transfer of posthumous awards to their wives.
The killed are Sergeant Ehtibar Rashidov, Senior Sergeant Muslim Ramazanov, and Private Maris Magomedov. Rashidov and Magomedov were posthumously awarded the Order of Courage, and Ramazanov received the medal "For Bravery," the official Telegram channel of the municipality informed.
The age and biographical details of the killed servicemen are not provided in the officials' message.
Thus, at least 2172 fighters from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives from the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the report of "Caucasian Knot" "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".
At the end of September, the administration of Dagognye reported that Sergey Poxevatkin was killed in battles in Ukraine.
Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District in the number of killed in the military operation whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. In February 2022, Sergey Melikov, who was then the head of Dagestan, was the first among the authorities to report that a Russian soldier - officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov - was killed in Ukraine.
State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, as stated in the material of "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters.
