A streamer from Samara publicly apologized for insulting people from the Caucasus.

A resident of Samara publicly apologized after he made obscene insults against Muslims and people from the Caucasus during a live broadcast.

A video of the streamer from Samara apologizing to Muslims was published today by the Instagram* public chpdagestana.

In the first video, the resident of Samara makes obscene insults against the Quran, Muslims, and their deceased relatives. According to him, he had been making such insults for six years and had not been punished for it. The video shows a fragment of the stream.

In the second video, the same young man is shown sitting on the ground, with blood visible on his face. "Please forgive me," he said, putting his hands together. "Why did you do this?" asked a person off-camera. "I apologized to the Muslims," he replied.

He then stated that he had no right to touch the sacred. After that, two other people began to beat him, kicking his body and face.

The description of the video states that the resident of Samara apologized to the residents of the Caucasus republics. "In Samara, the guy was punished for insulting Muslims and residents of the Caucasus. For likes and attention, he repeatedly went live and spoke rudely about Muslims and people from the Caucasus," the video description says.

This post in the Instagram* public chpdagestana, which has about 67.8 thousand followers, had received 389 likes and 147 comments by 10:45 Moscow time on October 20. Most of the authors condemned the resident of Samara for insults against the religion, Muslims, and residents of the Caucasus republics.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that residents of other regions of Russia regularly make public apologies to the residents of the North Caucasian Federal District. For example, on October 4, a video circulated on social media in which a Moscow streamer apologized on his knees to the residents of Chechnya for insults directed at them. Initially, he filmed himself on the street shouting insults, and then in a room, he read an apology text from his phone. The young man explained his behavior by alcohol intoxication, admitted that it did not justify him, and promised not to repeat it.

On September 27, a passenger of the Moscow metro made repeated apologies on his knees after a conflict with a girl from Chechnya, whom he threatened and insulted. The day before, the man had already apologized to the girl, her relatives, and everyone affected by his words. In his second address, he also apologized to the Chechen people and Ramzan Kadyrov, explaining that a person named Muhammad who called him suggested he kneel.

Foreigners also make public apologies to the residents of the North Caucasus. For instance, on November 8, 2019, a video blogger from England, Benjamin, apologized to the residents of Chechnya for using the expression "Chechen chick" in a video about his trip to the republic. In a train compartment, he joked about a possible travel companion, after which some social media users demanded punishment for him. In the apology video, the blogger sat in a room with a portrait of Ramzan Kadyrov and explained that he did not intend to offend anyone and did not take into account the differences in traditions.

The practice of public apologies initiated by Ramzan Kadyrov has spread beyond Chechnya and into other regions of Russia. More about this practice can be read in the "Caucasian Knot" reference "The Fashion for Apologies: From Chechnya to the Outskirts." The "Caucasian Knot" also maintains the "Chronicle of Public Apologies in the Caucasus".
