Mikhail Semenov has been sent to the punishment isolation cell.

The administration of the settlement colony considered the early rising of the convict from Tiberda, Mikhail Semenov, who was planning to go to the hospital, a violation of the regime.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on August 29, the wife of Tiberda resident, sports master in mountaineering Mikhail Semenov, complained that he had unsuccessfully sought medical assistance and complained about the conditions of detention first in the Cherkessk pre-trial detention center, and then in the Moscow region pre-trial detention center. Ekaterina Semenova emphasized that Mikhail is a disabled person of group II and has a heart condition. On September 22, she reported that her husband in settlement colony No. 3 in Elektrostal (Moscow region) is not being given prescribed medications and is denied an ambulance call in case of worsening health.

In July, law enforcement officers detained 38-year-old Mikhail Semenov in Karachay-Cherkessia for violating the deadline for reporting to the colony. Semenov was detained unjustly, as at that time he was undergoing a rehabilitation program, which, according to the law, is a valid reason, the lawyer pointed out.

Mikhail Semenov was sent to the SHIZO (punishment isolation cell) for drinking tea at an inappropriate time, his wife reported.

According to the woman, the reason for the punishment was that Mikhail Semenov drank tea at 5:20 AM, while the designated rising time is 6:00 AM.

However, Ekaterina Semenova explained that Mikhail got up earlier than allowed because he needed to go to the hospital at 7 AM, and he "decided to wake up earlier to have breakfast before the trip," reported the Telegram channel "Word for Defense" on October 17.

In the correctional institution, Semenov's act was regarded as a violation of the regime. The convict was sent to the SHIZO already after being discharged from the hospital, the publication clarifies.

On February 18, 2026, the Karachay District Court sentenced Mikhail Semenov to one year in a settlement colony. He was found guilty of illegally crossing the Russian-Abkhaz border through the Eastern Klukhori Pass in April 2024.

According to the mountaineer's wife, he has poor relations with some of the law enforcement officers, as they turn a blind eye to the fact that the management of the reserve allows people to come to the border Klukhori Pass for a fee. "He is a mountaineer, and 99% of mountaineers who walk in the Caucasus occasionally cross the border, as it is difficult to monitor it in the mountains," Semenova told "Caucasian Knot".

On September 10, the Elektrostal City Court denied the defense's request for the conditional early release of Mikhail Semenov.
