The name of the man who killed his daughter from the Rostov region has been removed from the memorial.
The authorities removed the name of Yakov Maiboroda from the memorial for those killed in the military operation in Ukraine. Yakov and his wife were sentenced to 15 and 13 years in prison for the murder of their eight-month-old daughter: her body was ground in a meat grinder and hidden in the freezer.
The name of the daughter’s killer, Yakov Maiboroda, has been removed from the plaque of war heroes in the Rostov region. A new photo from there was posted today by DonMash.
Yakov died in the special military operation during an assault on April 3, 2025; this became known only after the magazine "Post" discovered his details on the memorial for participants of the special military operation in Chertkovo. Yakov spent less than a year in prison before going to the special military operation.
"Yakov died in the special military operation during the assault on April 3, 2025. A year has passed," said Andrey Kasyanov, Yakov's uncle, to the publication.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", the authorities and security forces reported by October 16 that at least 1029 fighters from the Rostov region had been killed in the special military operation zone.
The funeral was ordinary, claims a neighbor of Yakov's parents.
Yakov Maiboroda wanted to divorce his wife, who threatened him with alimony, and Yakov killed their eight-month-old daughter. According to another version of the testimony, he accidentally killed her with a kick. Then, together with his wife, he ground the girl's body in a meat grinder, and they hid the remains in the freezer. "Then they called the police and said that the girl had been kidnapped by unknown persons. They lived in the same residential complex as me, and I remember the details of that case well — the Maiboroda family was discussed by everyone. He was sentenced to 15 years in a strict regime, she to 13. Both wanted to sign a contract for military service," writes journalist Irina Babicheva in her Telegram channel.
Yakov Maiboroda never admitted his guilt and refused to file a cassation appeal.
The name Maiboroda was added to the list of the deceased on the memorial in the village of Chertkovo; he was from this area, writes 161.ru.
Maiboroda signed a contract with the Ministry of Defense after losing the appeal, the publication reports.
All court hearings were held with a jury. In her final statement, the mother accused her husband of murdering their daughter, while the father demanded that the court severely "punish the killer" and pointed at Anastasia.
