The court refused to satisfy the claim of former senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov, who is serving a life sentence in the "Black Dolphin" colony, regarding the removal of his status as a prisoner prone to attacking colony staff and law enforcement officers.
As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on December 27, 2022, the Moscow City Court sentenced Rauf Arashukov and his father Raul Arashukov to life imprisonment. The appellate and cassation instances upheld the sentence. Raul Arashukov died in prison in 2023.
The Sol-Iletsk District Court of the Orenburg Region denied former senator Rauf Arashukov's claim to remove his status as a prisoner prone to attacking colony staff and law enforcement officers, TASS reported on October 13.
The case materials state that Arashukov, who is serving a life sentence in the "Black Dolphin" colony, was registered in 2023 as prone to attack, and in March 2026, the registration period was extended. The former senator challenged this decision, citing violations of procedural norms. He stated that he was not familiarized with the commission's decision, the minutes of the meeting, the report on preventive work, and other case materials, was not provided with copies of documents, and was not informed of the grounds for extending the registration. Arashukov believed that his rights were violated and requested to be removed from the register. Representatives of the colony, in turn, claimed that everything was legal and that the rights of the convicted person were not infringed.
The court decided to deny the claims, and the decision came into legal force.
In October 2024, it became known that former senator from Karachay-Cherkessia Rauf Arashukov was accused of transferring three million rubles to the staff of the "Black Dolphin" colony in the Orenburg region for creating favorable conditions for serving his sentence. On January 13, the court found Arashukov guilty of attempting to bribe a colony staff member and ordered him to pay a fine of 120 million rubles. The court also sentenced the life-sentenced former senator to an additional 10 years in prison.
Relatives of the life-sentenced Rauf Arashukov received a refusal in the spring regarding their request to transfer him from the Orenburg region to a colony in Mordovia. The defense of the former senator promised to appeal this decision. Arashukov also demanded 100,000 rubles in compensation from the colony for the non-issuance of food products, but the court at the end of April refused to satisfy this claim. It was revealed at the hearing that the goods that were not issued were absent from the store. On August 10, Arashukov sent a letter to the State Duma and the government of Russia proposing to increase the number of visits with children for those sentenced to life imprisonment.
