Supporters of Eurointegration have been gathering at the Parliament of Georgia for 685 consecutive days.

Demonstrators in Tbilisi on the 685th day of protests demanded the release of political prisoners and called on their fellow citizens to continue the fight for freedom.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 12, on the 684th day of continuous protests, participants of the rally at the Parliament of Georgia demanded the release of political prisoners and the protection of the rights of citizens who have been subjected to abuses by law enforcement.

Citizens of Georgia have been holding daily rallies at the Parliament and Tbilisi City Council with national flags and EU flags, demanding the release of political prisoners and a change in the country's foreign policy course.

Demonstrators remind the representatives of the “Georgian Dream” of their unwavering demands, which include the repeal of repressive laws and free elections, reports Publika.

Protesters held placards reading “Russia is the enemy”, “Freedom for regime prisoners”, “Glory to Ukraine”, and “Not a single step back, not a single day of silence. Fight until freedom.”

The gathering at the Parliament building on Rustaveli Avenue is taking place for the 685th evening in a row, according to a post on the Facebook page of photographer Georgy Mosiashvili (Mo Se).

The Plenary of the Constitutional Court today accepted for consideration the constitutional claim of the “Georgian Dream” to ban opposition political parties. The ruling party is seeking to ban almost all opposition political forces – its claim lists “Unity – National Movement”, “Coalition for Change”, “Strong Georgia – Lelo”, “Federalist Party”, and “Gakharia for Georgia”, reports Netgazeti.

One of the leaders of the “Lelo” movement, Irakli Kupradze, reported that the Constitutional Court has been summoned and informed about the scheduling of hearings on the claim to ban parties on October 21, 22, and 23.

Participants in the protests in Georgia have been demanding new parliamentary elections and the release of political prisoners since November 28, 2024. Law enforcement has conducted harsh dispersals of protests, using tear gas and water cannons, and detaining protesters. During the protests, thousands of people have faced administrative prosecution. “Caucasian Knot” has prepared a report “Main points on the persecution of protest participants in Georgia”.
