A fighter from Yessentuki was killed in the military operation.

Alexander Paraskevov was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the military operation in Ukraine, at least 979 fighters from Stavropol have been officially recognized as killed.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by October 9, authorities and security forces recognized at least 978 fighters from the Stavropol region as killed.

A memorial plaque was unveiled at school No. 5 in Yessentuki in memory of graduate Alexander Paraskevov, who died while fulfilling his military duty. Alexander graduated from this school in 2010, rose from private to senior lieutenant, participated in the Victory Parade, and was awarded medals and posthumously - the Order of Courage, the city administration reported on its Telegram channel.

According to the information on the memorial plaque, a photo of which is attached to the message, Paraskevov was killed on August 28, 2025, at the age of 31.

Thus, at least 979 servicemen from the Stavropol region have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District who were killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and security agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".

In September, the administration of Yessentuki reported that Ivan Kashirin was killed in the Special Military Operation zone.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, according to the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how authorities deprive families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of the killed fighters. For instance, the mother of the killed Dmitry Ukhanov said that she searched for her son's body for four months, while officials from the administration and military enlistment office inquired about the progress of the search without providing any help.
