Participants of the rally in Yerevan demanded the release of Russian political prisoners.

Activists held a rally near the Russian embassy in Yerevan in support of people they consider political prisoners.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", activists have repeatedly held pickets in front of the Russian embassy in Yerevan demanding the release of prisoners in Russia, whose prosecution they consider unjust. On October 4, at the embassies of Russia and Germany in Yerevan, picketers expressed support for people they consider political prisoners.

A group of activists held a rally in Yerevan demanding the release of Russian prisoners, whom they consider political prisoners, reported the Telegram channel "RusNews" today.

The rally took place near the Russian embassy, and its participants held placards with photographs of people they consider political prisoners. This includes those convicted in the "Furgal case", among whom is the former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory, Sergey Furgal, his accountant Galina Aleinikova, and her deputy Svetlana Osipenko.

One of the participants held a placard with the story of Arseniy Turbin*, who is considered the youngest political prisoner in Russia – Turbin was convicted at the age of 15, the publication states.

Also today in Yerevan, near the German embassy, several activists held a rally in support of Dmitry Bagrash, who faces deportation to Russia after his release. According to the participants of the rally, the reason for the picket was a letter from the Berlin prosecutor's office regarding Bagrash's complaint about alleged violations by Berlin justice officials. In his complaint, he pointed out the illegal actions of a judge and a former prosecutor, noted the Telegram channel.

It is worth recalling that former governor of the Khabarovsk Territory Sergey Furgal was found guilty by a jury and received a 23-year sentence. In December 2025, a new guilty verdict was issued – this time for economic articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation, with a total sentence of 25 years.

According to German authorities, in 2022 Dmitry Bagrash attempted to set fire to the building of the news agency RIA "Novosti" in Berlin. The investigation believes that Bagrash placed a homemade bomb in the basement of the building where agency employees lived. The bomb did not go off and was later found by police, reported the Berlin newspaper Tagesspiegel on its website on June 22.

On June 20, Bagrash was charged with attempted murder. Before his arrest, he held rallies against Vladimir Putin's policies, the publication noted.
