The picketers in Yerevan expressed support for Mansur Movlaev.

In Yerevan, several pickets took place near the Embassy of Kazakhstan, where participants protested against the extradition to Russia of Mansur Movlaev, a native of Chechnya, and activist Yulia Emelyanova.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", on October 6, Chechen activists at a rally in Paris demanded that the authorities of Kazakhstan cancel the extradition of Mansur Movlaev; the participants of the rally also expressed support for Yulia Emelyanova. On September 29, 153 human rights defenders and organizations called on Kazakhstan to stop the extradition of both activists and to provide them with the opportunity to leave for a safe third country. Earlier, actions demanding not to extradite Movlaev and Emelyanova to Russia also took place in Tbilisi, Ljubljana, Tokyo, New York, and Yerevan.

Today in Yerevan, a series of pickets took place near the Embassy of Kazakhstan, where participants demanded that the official Astana cancel the extradition of Mansur Movlaev and activist Yulia Emelyanova. The participants held placards with the inscriptions: "No extradition of Mansur Movlaev" and "No extradition of Yulia Emelyanova," reported the Telegram channel RusNews.

It is worth noting that in 2022, Mansur Movlaev was detained by security forces in Chechnya and was held in an illegal prison. In January 2023, he escaped from there and made it to Kyrgyzstan. In August 2023, security forces in Kyrgyzstan detained Movlaev, who was wanted in Russia on charges of financing extremism. A court in Bishkek sentenced him to six months in a penal colony and subsequent deportation from the country. On November 20, 2023, Movlaev was released and independently left Kyrgyzstan to avoid being sent back home.

In May 2025, Movlaev was detained in Kazakhstan and placed under extradition arrest. On January 30 of this year, the Prosecutor General's Office of Kazakhstan decided to extradite him to the Russian authorities.

In February of this year, the Supreme Court of Kazakhstan suspended the execution of the extradition decision regarding Movlaev until his asylum request is finally considered. On September 10, it became known that the cassation court in Kazakhstan found no violations in the refusal to grant Movlaev asylum. After that, Movlaev, who was held in a Kazakhstani pre-trial detention center, attempted to commit suicide.
