Residents of Magas called on officials to address the issue of vandalism.

In Magas, unknown individuals damaged streetlights, benches, playgrounds, and green spaces, a local resident complained on social media. Other residents, commenting on his complaint, demanded that the authorities punish those responsible and install cameras, and criticized the police for the lack of vandalism prevention.

According to a local resident, cases of vandalism have increased recently in Magas. Recently, streetlights and architectural objects in parks, benches, and playgrounds in courtyards were damaged, and a group of teenagers at the business hotel "Panorama" uprooted green spaces and broke decorative trees.

The complaint from the resident was published on October 9 by the Instagram*-public news_ingushetii, which has about 316 thousand followers. As of 16:00 MSK on October 10, this post received 269 likes and 127 comments.

Other local residents in the comments demanded the installation of cameras and the use of video surveillance to identify offenders. "Cameras on every corner, but they protect them like Lenin, blowing off dust," wrote loman92904.

"Please install video cameras where needed and catch these hooligans, and strictly punish their parents with large fines, only this way can they be corrected," urged i6954753.

"Only cameras and condemnation," pointed out kh_bo_va.

Other participants in the discussion demanded to punish those responsible and hold their parents financially accountable. "Fines will educate both the children and their parents! But for this, we need to work, and we don’t like to work!" wrote zairalawyer.

"If you know who they are, let their parents pay for the damage. They will immediately understand that this is not acceptable as soon as you present the bill!" noted leyla_766.

"Catch them, call their parents, let them compensate for the damage. Maybe then the parents will take care of raising their children. At midnight, children walk and ride around the streets. Lack of control over their children leads to not the best consequences. By the way, it would be useful to involve these children in community service in the form of cleaning the city. Let them work and think about their actions," suggested lilia___.

Some commentators criticized the police and authorities for the lack of prevention and response to what is happening. "What are the PPS doing? As far as I know, they should patrol the cities," inquired said_rich.001.

"Why aren’t they detained for questioning, maybe they aren’t even residents of Ingushetia. The authorities are inactive," stated firuza.firuza77.

"I happened to be near the adjacent territory of the Magas mayor's office today, there is simply nowhere to sit, the benches are in terrible condition, and I realized for myself that if the mayor's office cannot fix the situation right under its nose, then we cannot expect anything for the whole city," believes keligov_imran.

As of 16:00 MSK on October 10, there are no comments on the Magas administration's website regarding residents' criticism of the lack of vandalism prevention.

"Caucasian Knot" also reported that cases of vandalism in public spaces in southern Russia periodically provoke demands from residents to strengthen control. For example, on June 24, 2026, after streetlights were damaged in the Orekhovaya Grove of Anapa, local residents called on the authorities to find and punish those responsible and organize night security. On January 27, 2024, after swings, benches, and trash cans were damaged in the "Letny" park in Akhtubinsk, residents also demanded the installation of cameras and a security point.
