The blogger from Chechnya has been added to the register of foreign agents
The Russian Ministry of Justice has included in the register of foreign agents a native of Chechnya, video blogger Muslim Satuev*, known as "Pkharmat."
The Ministry of Justice of the Russian Federation updated the register of foreign agents on October 9, adding Chechen blogger Muslim Satuev* to it.
The agency justified this decision with standard phrases, stating that Muslim Satuev* participated in the creation and dissemination of materials from other foreign agents and also spoke out against Russia's military actions regarding Ukraine.
"Satuev spread false information about the decisions made by the public authorities of the Russian Federation and the policies they conduct (....) He resides outside the Russian Federation," the ministry's website states.
Muslim Satuev* is known online as "Pkharmat" ("Pkharmat") or Antiterror ChRI. On his Telegram channel, which has 21.5 thousand subscribers, he reposted a publication from a news project about the update of the foreign agents register, but did not comment on his new status himself.
The blogger positions himself as a Chechen Rodnover adhering to the pre-Islamic religion of the Vainakh. Pkharmat is a hero of Vainakh mythology, identified with Prometheus. On YouTube, Satuev* has 75.8 thousand subscribers, and his Instagram* page has 15.7 thousand followers. Most of his videos are dedicated to criticism of Islam and discussions about religion.
At the end of December 2024, the pro-government Chechen Instagram*-public obzor_chr published a video with relatives of Muslim Satuev*, who renounced him. The post claims that the blogger "has been conducting atheist propaganda for several years while sitting in Europe."
"Relatives of the Euro-Chechen Muslim Satuev*, residing in Lithuania, appealed for help to stop him by all available means," the publication states.
