A soldier from Dagestan was killed in Ukraine

Artik Apatov from Khasavyurt was killed in combat. Since the beginning of the Russian operation in Ukraine, officials have publicly named the names of at least 2150 killed combatants from Dagestan.

As reported by "Caucasian Knot", by October 8, officials and law enforcement recognized at least 2149 killed combatants from Dagestan in Ukraine.

In Khasavyurt, the family of the killed participant of the special military operation, Artik Apatov, was awarded a state honor - the Order of Courage, the city administration reported today on its Telegram channel.

The award was presented to the soldier's mother by the head of Khasavyurt, Korgoli Korgoliev. The details of the soldier's biography and death were not provided in the administration's message.

Thus, at least 2150 servicemen from Dagestan have been officially recognized as killed on the Ukrainian front. "Caucasian Knot" maintains a named list of natives of the North Caucasus Federal District and Southern Federal District killed in the military operation. The list is compiled based on data officially announced by representatives of the authorities and law enforcement agencies, according to the "Caucasian Knot" report "Statistics of the Special Military Operation: losses are increasing for southern Russia".

Earlier, the administration of Khasavyurt reported that in the military operation Azmat Valiev was killed.

Dagestan ranks first among the regions of the North Caucasus Federal District in the number of killed whose names have been officially disclosed by the authorities. Sergey Melikov, who headed Dagestan in February 2022, was the first among the authorities to announce that a Russian soldier was killed in Ukraine, acknowledging the death of officer Nurmagomed Gadzhimagomedov.

State awards, memorial plaques, and appearances on "Channel One" do not guarantee support from the state for the families of the killed, according to the material from "Caucasian Knot" "Three comrades served: how the authorities deprive the families of killed volunteers of benefits", which describes the stories of killed fighters. "I receive only twelve thousand rubles a month for two minor children as a family of military pensioners," complains the wife of Vasily Shtylun, who received five million rubles from the "Veterans" unit for her husband killed in 2022.
